Wendy Lau is a barrister-at-law in Hong Kong and was admitted on 28th March 2009.  She possesses a LLM Degree (Chinese Comparative Law) from the City University of Hong Kong in 2016 and an EMBA Degree from Richard Ivey School of Business, the University of Western Ontario, Canada in 2002 and attended the Employment and Workplace Mediation Skills Training programme of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in 2014.

Right after admission to the bar, Wendy was once a fiat prosecutor (from 2010 – 2011 and subsequently joined Soundwill Holdings Limited (金朝陽集團有限公司), a Hong Kong listed company (HKEX No 878) (from 2011 – 2012), with its core business in acquisition of old buildings, property development (including residential buildings and shopping mall), as an in-house legal counsel.

During more than 10 years of private practice in Hong Kong, Wendy has been mainly engaged in civil litigations involving different facets including but not limiting to land and property cases, commercial cases (shareholders agreement dispute, Business Purchase Agreement dispute, service agreement disputes etc), trust cases (trust property), defamation cases, employee compensation cases, matrimonial cases, personal injuries cases, , mentally incapacitated persons’ cases (obtaining court order for being the Committee to manage the MIP’s assets), contentious probate cases,  bankruptcy cases as well as in some criminal cases.

Wendy is also a member of the Legal Aid Panel (Civil Matters) and a member of the DOJ briefing out list in Civil Matter and a member of the CAT (Claims Against Torture) Panel to handle the non-refoulement claims of Hong Kong.
