With over 15 years of experience in the financial industry and as a certified public accountant, Becky entered the legal profession, bringing a wealth of corporate experience. She began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an auditor and later pursued an MBA, which led her to consulting. Becky then held senior human resources roles at HSBC and Natixis Corporate and Investment Bank, ultimately serving as the Director of Human Resources at Natixis before transitioning to law. She leverages her accounting knowledge to deliver a solution-driven and proactive approach in her legal practice.
After completing pupillage under Mr Azan Marwah, Mr Valentine Yim, Mr Stanley Siu, and Mr Albert Luk, followed by an extended pupillage with Mr Vincent Chen. Additionally, she served as a marshal to DDJ C. K. Siu, Becky gained substantial experience handling a diverse array of legal cases. Notably, her appearance as a sole advocate in the High Court within her first month of practice demonstrates her competence and trustworthiness. Becky’s unique blend of financial acumen and legal expertise positions her to effectively serve her clients’ needs.
Becky’s civil practice encompasses a wide range of areas, including matrimonial, employment, land, probate, trusts, judicial review, contract, company, bankruptcy, winding up, commercial fraud, and crypto fraud. She is regularly instructed to advise on these matters and appears in her own right in the Lands Tribunal, Family Court, District Court and High Court. Additionally, she provides legal advice on all civil matters, whether procedural or substantive and is experienced in taxation of cost and reviewing statements of cost.
In her criminal practice, Becky has been constantly briefed to advise and represent clients as a sole advocate on various criminal matters including mentions, pre-trial review, bail applications, bind-overs and mitigation at Magistrates’ Courts and District Court. She also provides advice on criminal appeals, cross-border fraud case, and white collar crime issues arising from civil disputes, such as false instrument, fraud, SFC and ICAC (bribery) related offences. In addition to her private practice, Becky is a member of the Duty Lawyer Service, appearing at various Magistrates’ Courts.
Becky is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She is capable of conducting proceedings and drafting documents in both Chinese and English.
